Bhutan Agro Industries Limited (BAIL), established in 1993, processes surplus horticulture products from local
Bhutanese farmers into ready-to-market goods. With a focus on enhancing farmer livelihoods, their offerings
include fruit juices, jams, pickles, and bottled water. To expand into Indian, Bangladesh and Southeast Asian
markets, they needed branding and packaging that felt fresh, modern and globally appealing.
The Challenge
While BAIL enjoyed strong recognition locally, their packaging lacked the
international appeal needed for new markets. The goal was to create designs that: • Resonate Globally while retaining Bhutanese authenticity. • Highlight Freshness and Quality, making the products stand out on shelves.
Our Ideation
We redesigned Royal Bhutan Farms' packaging to blend international appeal with
Bhutanese heritage. Alongside this, we also revamped the logo—taking a simple
yet effective approach by extracting the lotus element from their emblem, creating
a design that feels modern while retaining its cultural essence.
Vibrant Colors: Bright, bold hues instantly communicate the fruit flavors—apple
red, mango orange, passion purple, and pineapple green—creating shelf impact
and flavor recognition.
Cultural Elements: We drew inspiration from Bhutan's renowned mesmerizing
monasteries, snow-capped mountains and captivating landscapes.
Product Prominence: Centered fruit visuals clarify the product's ingredients and
flavors, appealing to a global audience.
The packaging design creates a visual connect with Bhutan’s legacy and presents
it in a contemporary context appropriate for customers across boundaries.
